Uganda Rugby Union has revealed that South African coach John Duncan is to return to the Rugby Cranes ahead of their busy schedule in the middle of this year.
Duncan will be back at the helm of the tacticians in charge of the national side having accomplished a short stint with the side last year.
John Duncan, a former coach of the 15s team at Queens College, a school situated at the foot of the Stormberg Mountains in the Eastern Cape town of Queenstown, replaced Joe Beukes just before the first leg of the 2015 Elgon Cup.
He witnessed Uganda claim the 2015 Elgon Cup as the outfit revenged 2014’s loss to the Kenya “A” before he later joined the fray as the same side defeated Botswana 59-10 to gain promotion to tier 1A.
“We still have John Duncan from last year,” URU chief executive officer Ramsey Olinga told Daily Monitor. “Soggy (Seguya) and Anthony Kinene remain his assistants,” he added.
Cranes’ provisional squad has already been selected and they will soon embark on more drills in a bid to impress in tier 1A and Elgon Cup.
