Former Pirates and national team tactician has faulted the double tackle style Uganda Rugby Cranes used during their 2016 Elgon Cup match at Legends Rugby Grounds.

Cranes succumbed to a comprehensive beating by Kenya, a 10-48 alarming score and Ahamya believes the problems started from the tactics Robert Seguya and Anthony Kinene used.

“The double tackles require a team carrying the ball, but against a running team after two or three tackles when they offload, they get your wingers off guard because they are all in the tackles,” he explained to New Vision.

Scrumhalf Kevin Makmot also admitted the awful performance, generally blaming the slip on several mistakes.

“We were punished for making so many mistakes,” Makmot told Kawowo Sports after the team’s training session Tuesday evening. “It was quite easy for them because we had a very terrible day,” he added.

Uganda host Namibia on July 2nd but before that, they travel to South Africa first on Saturday morning for a 12-day camp in Free State.
