SC Villa coach Shafik Bisaso insists his side were worthy winners against rivals Express at Namboole.
A brace from Umar Kasumba and a winner from Abdulmalick Vitalis Tabu gave the Jogoos a 3-2 win after Ibrahim Saddam Juma had given the Red eagles a lead and then Simon Sserunkuma had equalised moments after the break.
“I’m happy the players did everything and they deserved to win,” Bisaso told Kawowo Sports. “In the previous week, we have prepared well and the boys were magnificent given the intensity of the game,” he added.
Bisaso admitted his side weren’t phenomenal but says it was a good given the nature of the game and its importance.
The performance was good, it was not phenomenal, but it was good. I like the spirit, the effort and the solidarity. This being a derby, performances may count for less but the most important thing is the three points.
The Jogoos showed character to come from a goal down and also had the attitude to fight on after the Red Eagles equalised.
The soft spoken Bisaso named an offensive minded side and he had this to say.
We were at home and thought having the ball would make us dangerous to beat. Besides, all we needed was to outscore the opponent.
SC Villa’s next game is a daunting trip to Lugogo where they face another rival in KCCA on Tuesday.
