After a successful Africa Black ball pool championship held at Lugogo where Uganda won both the male and female versions, attention turns to the domestic scene with the Pool Association of Uganda (PAU) clubs knock out set for this Saturday 19th November 2016.
The draws for the event were held on Tuesday at club Lumas in Kampala .
There eight groups in the men category each having three teams and four groups in the ladies category each hosting four clubs.
Skin Samona, the defending champions were drawn in an easy group having senior League Outfits Nakawa Pool Rangers and League one’s Mbale pool club in group E.
However Samona faces a tricky line in case they qualify for second round. They might meet Icon who tormented them home and away in the Senior Pool League this season.
Skin Samona will have tussle it out with CKI or Hotpool in the semi finals in case they all qualify.
Hotpool and CKI will meet each other in the quater finals.
This makes it a very tough passage for the defending Champions.
Senior pool league table leaders Scrap Buyers will have a chance of playing a hard Team in the Finals which gives them a Chance of taking a Double this Season.
Scrap Buyers are in Group C with Betway sponsored Club Anchors and Masindi’s Red Shooters .
Kiboga pool club is the only club outside the recognized leagues which registered to take part in this edition.
The little known club are placed in group B with Boat and club Klein. The top two Clubs will go to the round of 16 where The Group winners will face the Second placed clubs in the other Groups.
In the Ladies Category, Indigo will be out to depend its trophy with a tough Challenge from Anchors ,Klein and Scrap Buyers.
Current league table leaders Hotpool is in group A comprising of only Ntinda derby affairs where all the four clubs come from the locality.
The championship is at 10:00AM on Saturday with the men’s category and the following day 9:00AM with the ladies.
All fixtures are slated at Lumas Pool Arena.
