Uganda Rugby Cranes got off to a disappointing start at the Cape Town Sevens, losing all their three opening matches at the HSBC World Series round two in South Africa.
Widely recognized for their fancy and much improved performance at the tournament, Uganda failed to bully at least one of their opponents.
Uganda lost to Wales 29-07, Scotland 38-07 and Samoa 29-05 all at the pool stage.
Wales 29-07 Uganda
The pearl showed clear intentions when Ramathan Govule touched down early against Wales, Phillip Wokorach converting, but all got ruined when James Davies notched two unconverted tries in succession.
Gareth Williams’ try, James Davies’ and Ifan Evans’ were all the opponents needed to seal a 29-07 win in the second half.
Scotland 38-07 Uganda
Scotland needed three tries in the opening half from James Johnstone converted by Scott Wight, Farndale’s and Fife’s slotted again by Wight.
Phillip Wokorach impressed, tipping over the line for Uganda as the first half came to an end. Kevin Keremundu slotted through the uprights.

Uganda got stuck at 7 points for the whole of second half, shipping in three more tries, two converted.
Horne’s in the 8th minute converted by Wight, Farndale’s second within a minute – taken care of by Wight as well and James Fleming’s.
Samoa 29-05 Uganda
Puis Ogena racked up Uganda’s final points of the day against Samoa as he touched in response to their early lead.
Lafaele Tuliu Vaa had scored Samoa’s first try, Tila Mealoi converting.
Phillip Wokorach missed the conversion off Ogena’s before Micheal Wokorach got sent to the sin bin.
Asofolau and Toloa further inflicted pain on Uganda with tries before half time – Mealoi slotting through for the latter.
Tupou eventually crossed the whitewash twice in the second half as Mealoi missed only one to claim their first win in pool D.
Scotland top Pool D, Wales have progressed to the last eight as runners-up while Uganda remains rock bottom.
