Bul FC Coach Peter Onen called for Ugandan soccer to introduce goal-line technology after his side were denied by what he termed as a poor decision in Tuesday’s 2-1 loss at Proline which dented their chances of staying in the league.

The Jinja side were left fuming when Proline defender Denis Makoba headed away the ball that appeared to have crossed the line.

The match officials did not award the goal denying Bul an equaliser moments after substitute Daniel Isiagi had put the hosts ahead in the 87th minute.

“It’s sad that we don’t have goal-line technology,” said Onen after the game. “To me, it crossed the line but you can’t blame the match officials. Goal-line technology would mean we leave with at least a point,” he added.

Best team lost

The soft spoken tactician also revealed his side were better on the day and were unfortunate to leave without anything from the game they controlled and created numerous scoring chances and also rattled the cross twice.

No doubt about who the better team was on the day. We controlled the game, created the chances and its disappointing to leave empty handed.

The loss leaves the side on 29 points with three games to complete the season and only two points above safety which complicates matters of survival as Onen admits.

It complicates the equation but what to do? It’s now time to show character by picking the desired points in our next games to stay up.

Bul’s remaining games are against fellow relegation candidates Sadolin Paints, Soana and Onduparaka.
