Following the 3-1 win over Morocco’s FUS Rabat on Sunday, KCCA are just a point away from reaching the quarter finals of the 2017 Total CAF Confederation Cup.

The Ugandan representatives are on nine points, same Club Africain who they face on Friday in the final group game with a draw guiding either to the last eight regardless of what happens in Rabat where Rivers United visit FUS Rabat.

Rivers United and the 2010 competition winners are all on six points and despite being three points adrift of KCCA and Club Africain, they still have a chance to progress with maximum points if the result in Tunis suits them.

However, Mike Mutebi’s side can still progress even when they lose but that means the match in Casablanca must end in a draw. A draw will leave the two sides on seven points each, two behind KCCA who will stay on nine with a loss.

Again, a win for Rivers United against FUS Rabat coupled with a minimal loss for KCCA against Club Africain can also guarantee the Kasasiro a match in the last eight.

Going into the final rounds of the game, KCCA and Rivers United have a similar head to head record and thus goal difference will sort them out in case they tie on points.

As of now, KCCA have a zero goal difference after scoring eight and conceding as many while Rivers United have scored five and conceded seven.

That means any loss for Kasasiro that don’t leave them with an inferior goal difference to Rivers United in whichever way they win in Morocco will still be good for the league and cup holders in Uganda.

Meanwhile, a win of any margin for FUS Rabat on Friday and a loss of any margin by KCCA to Club Africain eliminates the Ugandan side thanks to Lamine Diakite goal at Lugogo that swung the Head to Head advantage in FUS Rabat’s favour.
