With 13 runs needed off the the final Over, Captain Alpesh Hirani handed the ball to himself with a buoyant Arthur Kyobe on strike.

With no runs scored off the first 2 balls, Kyobe scored a 6 off the 3rd but played on the 5th ball with 5 runs still needed. Kutchi Tigers winning the nail bitter by 1 run.

Kutchi had won the toss and set 232 all out before nicking Challengers by 1 run.

Kutchi was greatly aided by an opening partnership of 100 between Nanji Phindoria (51) and Asea (47).

Challengers started slow in their chase losing their captain Ivan Thawitamwira for zero and Abraham Alema (7) run out early on but a partnership between Ahmed Nasser (43) and Arthur Kyobe (76) helped Challengers get close to the total.

A very good game for a neutral at Lugogo and welcome runs for Arthur Kyobe who played a gem of an inning despite being on the losing end.

At Kyambogo, Damani made light work of Nile winning by 188 runs. Brian Masaba (92) put in a man of match performance with both ball and bat. Ivan Baidhu had a fiver (5/38) but it didn’t help much as Damani set 246/8 and another fiver from U19 captain Kenneth Waiswa (5/13) sorted out Nile for 58.

In Entebbe, ACC continued it’s good form beating season pace setters Premier by 25 runs. ACC was in trouble at 0/2 but recovered to post 180 all out. Emma Odeng (4/20) helped ACC dismiss Premier for 155.

Strikers outplayed Tornado in Budo winning by 212 runs. Strikers batted 1st scoring 261/9 with Perry Wazombe (71) the top scorer before Tornado was skittled out for 49.

In Jinja, SKPLS beat home team Jinja SS by 77 runs. SKPLS batted first scoring 163 all out before sorting out Jinja SS for 86 all out.

On Saturday, Avengers kept their promotion fight on course beating school side Nyakasura by 193 runs. Avengers set 245/9 with Umer Waseem(65) the top scorer before dismissing Nyakasura for 52 all out.

Kutchi Tigers are the biggest winners of the weekend as their win dents Challengers quest for the title.

The win for ACC against their competition for promotion Premier made Division 2 interesting.

Avengers stay on top in Division 3 and if all goes well, they will gain promotion to Division 2.
