Uganda National women handball team gets into action on Tuesday night against Benin at the International Handball Federation (IHF) Trophy in Senegal.
The team departed the country on Saturday night and arrived safely on Sunday afternoon.
They had an acclimatization training session on Monday night ahead of the opening match.
According to the team captain, Stellah Akongo, they have not feared any opponent in the tournament.
There is no reason for fear. In fact, we are our own enemies.
We had two weeks of intense training where we handled all aspects of the game from positioning, ball handling, offense and defense.
The coach (Jimmy Orotin) did a good job and we shall not disappoint because we are hoping for a medal
Uganda, the representatives from East Africa will face Benin in the second match on the day.
Earlier, Guinea will take on Mozamibique in the official opening match of the tournament.
Madagascar will play Ethiopia in the last game of the day set to kick off at 11 p.m.
On Wednesday, Uganda entertains islanders Madagascar.
