A hotly contested battle is expected this weekend when the Kabalega Rally gets rolling in Hoima.
Christakis Fitidis, Ronald Sebuguzi, Duncan Mubiru and Kuku Ranjit are all well placed to take charge of this year’s title chase.
Fitidis currently tops the National Rally Championship leaderboard with 315 points; 65 points ahead of second placed Sebuguzi. Mubiru and Kuku both tie in third with 230 points.
The four crews will all aim at finishing ahead of the other which will provoke a tight fight going into the final round later in November.
Kawowo Sports draws down the likely chances for the four crews.
Fitidis and Eric Nzamwita – Mitsubishi EvoX
The team has been consistent throughout. And besides, Fitidis has currently upped his pace.
A podium finish in Hoima will work best for the crew into the final round. Combining Fitidis’ current pace and his consistence, a top position is a likely result.
Sebuguzi and Leon Ssenyange – Mitsubishi Evo X

The crew has suffered two successive DNFs; that has cost them the championship lead. A win in Hoima can bring the team’s title hopes to life.
Duncan Mubiru and George Semakula – Subaru N14

Mubiru got his way back to the NRC title race after finishing fourth overall in Pearl of Africa Rally last June.
However, only a win can facilitate his dream of winning the title, as he is now more closer to a championship.
Kuku and Musa Nsubuga – Mitsubishi Evo X

Kuku’s title hopes will only depend on nothing else but a win in Hoima. He will hope to carry his perfect drive from the lasting outing in June into round five.
A top place finish will keep Team Simba lurking among the top three overall with the final championship round set for November.
