Whatever divine favor Africa Cricket Club as a team believes in they will need it more than ever this Sunday at Kyambogo, from perfect weather to making sure they are not let down by their abilities.

ACC will need a huge win to be able to overcome a Net Run Rate deficit of 0.8 with closest rival Strikers on 1.4 and ACC sitting on 0.6.

ACC is playing catch up as the other two promotion rivals Premier and Strikers finished their quota of games. They were in prime position earlier but a loss to Tornado made things hard for ACC and with both the other having superior next run rates ACC have an uphill battle to gain promotion.

ACC need everything to fall in place and Vice Captain Amos Kyazze is optimistic of their chances;

First, we need Jinja SS to turn up for the game, as they can chose to stay given that this is a dead rubber for them.

Talking strategy, we need to score upwards of 400 and restrict them to below 100. I think Kyambogo has had a 500 score this season, so it’s possible.

We haven’t needed to score 400 runs this season, but since we need to go big this weekend we have the guys to do it.

The school kids of Jinja SS on any other day can prove to be tricky customers but in a dead rubber showing up will be the first test for them against a very determined ACC side.

This game will be away from the comfort of their home turf in Jinja and will be played at Kyambogo Cricket Oval.
