Arua based side Onduparaka played to a goal-less stalemate with Jinja outfit, BUL at the Kakindu Stadium on Friday. The game witnessed either sides miss goal scoring moments.

During the opening half, the Catarpillars missed taking the lead with 27 minutes gone. Lead striker Ceasar Samson Okhuti combined well with Alfred Leku but the effort from the former hit the cross bar with goalkeeper Paul Mujampawani beaten.

Defender Musa Walangira also missed with a header off Hassan Musana’s curling corner from the left two minutes into the second half as the two sides retreated to the locker rooms tied goal-less.

Ten minutes into the second half , BUL skipper Patrick Asiku paved way for Daniel Shabene for the first substitution of the game. On the hour mark, Viane Ssekajugo replaced the weary but effective legs of midfielder Gadaffi Wahabu.

Tennage forward Ezra Bidda replaced Ceaser Okuhuti for the visiting side’s first change of the day. Bidda’s pace and work rate unsettled the BUL back line for long spells of the latter part of the second stanza.

In front, Bidda crossed for another substitute Viane Ssekajugo who had come on for midfielder Gadaffi Wahabu. Ssekajugo arrived late at the back post as the ball sailed out of play.

There were no further close chances for the two sides in the physical contest.

Onduparaka is displaced by Vipers (the Venoms won 1-0 away to Mbarara City) to third place as both sides now have 15 points apiece.
