Uganda Cranes midfielder Yassar Mugerwa and his new club, Fassil Kenema got off to a winning start in the 2017-18 Ethiopia Premier League on Sunday.
Fassil Kenema won 1-0 away from home to Jimma Aba Jefar. Phillip Dauzi scored the lone strike of the day.
Midfielder Yassar Mugerwa featured in the game although the other Ugandan on the team, Robert Sentongo remained unused.
The reigning champions St George were held to a one all draw by Mekelle Kenema.
Mugerwa disclosed to Kawowo Sports about the great start at his new club;
It feels good to start winning with my new club. Credit goes to the entire team and the traveling fans who made it and cheered with passion.
Fassil Kenema will face Woldia in the next game.
