The Real Stars Awards for August 2026 were officially handed over on Tuesday, 8th September, at Nanjing Restaurant, Kololo, in Kampala.
Personalities in Basketball and football were rewarded for their outstanding performances in the month.

Kawempe Muslim Ladies’ Football Club captain Agnes Nabukenya for her success during August, beating two male players, Richard Basangwa and Saidi Mayanja of NEC and Police football clubs respectively.
“I am very grateful that God has enabled me to win this accolade; it is a result of giving everything and is a big push for me together with fellow players,” Nabukenya hinted.



Nabukenya skippered Kawempe Muslim Women Football Club to the 2026 CECAFA regional Women’s Club Championship in Kigali city, Rwanda.
The club consequently qualified to the CAF Champions League, for the first time becoming the first club in Uganda to reached the stage.
Kawempe Muslim Women Football Club head coach Ayub Khalifah received a Lifetime achievement award recognising his 25 years, most of which have been spent nurturing women’s football and female football players.




Other awardees:
Matrina Anyango was named the best in women’s basketball, edging Brenda Kayaga and Zoe Atek.


In men’s basketball, Fataki Frank Nyembo of champions Namuwonge Blaizers was crowned the best.
Nyembo won the 2026 National Basketball League trophy for the second year running.
He beat Tony Drilleba and Patrick Rembert.
These awards have been held for the past decade, supported by betting firm Fortebet and Jude Colour Solutions, among others.
Isaac Mukasa, the executive director of the Real Stars Agency, the organisers of these awards, is humbled by the continued support of the media and partners in supporting these awards.

“Since inception, I salute our key sponsors, Fortebet and Jude Colour Solutions, plus all media houses who promote the sportsmen and their activities. We appreciate the sportsmen for motivating them and appreciate their effort,” Mukasa, also a sports journalist-cum-politican remarked.
The next series of awards will be handed over in early October 2026, to celebrate the best performances in September.
