Masavu FC Coach Alex Gitta was a happy man at the final whistle in Matugga after drawing 1-1 with Bright Stars.
The visitors who are now unbeaten in three league games after losing six in a row took the lead through Akram Kakembo own goal but were pegged by a late equaliser from Nelson Senkatuka.
“First of all, we came into the game optimistic that we can pick a point,” he told reporters. “We knew it wasn’t going to be an easy game against a side that has managed more points at home,” he added.
Our strategy worked and we got the point so we are happy.
Masavu has turned the tide recently picking seven points out of a possible nine and are now on 11 points same as Express although both teams are in the red zone.
Gitta remains optimistic they will achieve their survival target.
From losing six consecutive games, we have managed seven points now in three games. I think if we keep this up, our target to survive will be achieved.
The league new entrants have won three, drawn two and lost seven games so far, scoring only seven goals and conceding 20.
