In the aftermath of a disappointing 3-1 defeat to rivals KCCA Football Club on Tuesday, Moses Waiswa says his side is just unlucky.

Vipers Sports Club were condemned to their second loss of the season with KCCA’s new boy Muhammad Shaban grabbing a double and Derrick Nsibambi gifted by James Alitho who was in goal for the Venoms.

Despite Yayo Lutimba cancelling Shaban’s opener with a bullet penalty after Taddeo Lwanga was wrestled down by Timothy Awany, it took KCCA only ten minutes to regain their lead.

Vipers tried to push for the equalizer especially in the second half, creating a few chances and forced a couple of saves from Charles Lukwago who was between the posts for the Kasasiro.

The loss took the Venoms’ run without victory to three matches, and silky midfielder Waiswa says luck in just not on their side but they are putting in the work.

“We try to play, fight but we don’t have the luck… I have to say luck is just not on our side,” he told the media in a post-match press conference.

“We try to play, we work and create but luck is not on our side.”

Waiswa and Vipers play host to Kirinya-Jinja SS in their next league engagement on Friday, November 24.
