Association Sportive de Salé advanced to the FIBA Africa Champions Cup semifinals following a dominant 92-63 win over Ferroviario Beira on Tuesday.
The Moroccan side dominated right from tip-off sweeping through the first three periods 25-15, 22-11 and 30-13, and despite falling short in the fourth quarter, all was nothing but done.
Helton Ubisse and Angelo Warner got the first four points on board but Salé quickly replied through Abderrahim Najah and Soufiane Kourodu.
Abdelhakim Zouita hit a jump shot to put Salé in the lead and from that point the Moroccans never trailed again.
Association Sportive de Salé had six players score in double figures led by center Najah with 19 points, Yacine Baeri and Zouita contributed 16 points apiece while Anorld and Kourodu chiped in with 13 and 11 points respectively.
Yassine El Mahsini was 3 points short of a triple double. Salé’s point guard dropped 11 dimes and picked 10 rebounds.
Meanwhile, only one Beira player Elves Houana (13 points) reached double figures.
Semifinal and Classification
In the semifinal, AS Sale will face off with Libolo while in the classification fixture, Beira will play Inter Clube.
