UCU Lady Canons secured a well-deserved 80-47 victory against Miracle Eaglets in the National Basketball League encounter at Abja Park, Nalya on Wednesday.
The Lady Canons started on the front foot, opening a 14-point (28-14) lead at the end of the first stanza.
Christa Ciella Igiraneza drops two 3-point shots as the Lady Canons took a 27-point lead (50-23) into the halftime break.
Coming from the long break, the Eaglets put some pressure on the ball, thus breaking the Canons’ rhythm, though they trailed by 30 points going into the final period.
In the final frame, the Lady Canons secured a dominant victory on the day.
Sylvia Nantongo poured in 17 points and made 16 rebounds in a double-double, while Matrina Anyango added 13 points for the UCU Lady Canons.
On the other hand, Linda Nakalembe (14 points) and Caroline Nakato (11 points) scored double digits for the Eaglets.
Next on the menu, the Lady Canons will take on the JKL Lady Dolphins on Friday at the Lugogo Indoor Arena.
