Kitata last week performed well during the pre-qualifiers held at the PGA National Estates Palm Beach Gardens in Florida.

During the pre-qualifier tourney, the 2014 Uganda Amateurs Golf Open winner scored three and five birdies on the first nine and back course respectively under windy conditions.

Talking to Kawowo Sports on Sunday from his Florida base, Kitata expressed the overwhelming desire to perform well against all the odds and qualify;

Starting Monday, every ball played will count. I will take a cautious but aggressive approach as well.

My main target is to seek qualification.

The 6826 yards par 71 Mayacco Lakes country club in West Palm beach in Florida

About the Mayacoo Lake Country Club:

The course is a par 71 designed by Jack Nicklaus and Desmond Muirhead.

It was established as far back as 1972.

Built on level land 6,906 yards from the back tees, the course packs much of its punch into the 13 holes that feature water hazards.

Stands of melaleuca trees, pine and palm trees line most fairways. Because of the water and trees, shot placement is always important.
