Paul Nkata admitted his URA charges didn’t do enough in the defeat to SC Villa but says he is only preparing the team for next season.
The URA gaffer saw his side suffer a humiliating 3-0 defeat to log leaders at Masaka Recreation Ground and have now won just once in three games since he took over.
“Congratulations to them for the win,” said Nkata. “But am pleased with the way my boys are learning to play the way I want,” he added.
For us, we are not among title contenders so we take each game as a trial for mastering what we want to play.
I can assure you, if we get it right, we shall be unbeatable.
The Kenya Premier League winner with Tusker started the game without a recognised centre forward and only introduced one – Herman Wasswa after they went 2-0 down.
When asked why went for that, he said they are trying out a couple of things.
SC Villa have only lost two points at Masaka this season and when Nkata, a former Jogoo coach was asked what the chances of his former side are in the title race, he was cynical.
If they are going to play all their games in Masaka, then they have a big chance. If not, I have reservations.
Nkata’s team, already out of the Uganda Cup are 8th on the log with 23 points.
