Mangat heads into the Safari off back-to-back victories in this year’s Ugandan championship.

“It’s been a while since we competed in an international event. We would like to get out there and see how things have changed in regards to the pace and much more. And besides, Safari rally suits our work schedule,” he told Kawowo Sports.

Mangat last competed in Kenya in 2016 finishing third overall in the Eldoret Rally.

The Safari comes as the second round of Africa Rally Championship series. Mangat a former contender to the African crown says he wont be competing for the series honours this time round.

“I don’t think we have looked that far into the season at this point. Our focus is Safari at the moment and not ARC yet,” he said.
