Uganda Cranes forward Erisa Keith Ssekisambu completed a dream move to Kenya Premier League giants Gor Mahia Football Club on Wednesday, 31st October 2018.

The forward, in his mid-twenties, signed a two-year employment deal, according to his representative and FIFA Players’ agent Ronald “Ronnie Santos” Niwagira.

“Yes. Erisa Ssekisambu has signed a two year deal with Gor Mahia, the best club in Kenya. I wish him the very best in his future endeavors,” Santos confessed to Kawowo Sports.

Ssekisambu has been a free agent since he made the decision not to renew his contract at the reigning Uganda Premier League champions Vipers.

His move to the club comes days after another Ugandan, Shafiq Batambuze joined the side from Tanzanian side Singida United.

Gor Mahia has also signed Kenneth Muguna (FC Tirana), Nicholas Kipkirui (Zoo) and the talented Kenyatta University student Castro Ogendo.

His agent, Santos predicts a great time for the client at his new home;

Erisa Ssekisambu is a known hard working player who sacrifices every thing in his midst to play football with passion. Therefore, even the quality of players at the club, the rich history of Gor Mahia and his unquestionable talent, I know he will shine and Gor Mahia as a club will also shine.

Ssekisambu joins the ever-swelling list of Ugandans to have played at the treasured Kenya club whose big following is only challenged by fierce rivals – AFC Leopards.

Other Ugandans who have played at Gor Mahia include David Otti (R.I.P),  Dan “Muzeyi” Sserunkuma, Jimmy Bageya, Ivan “Rasta” Anguyo, Khalid Aucho, Geofrey “Baba” Kizito, Godfrey “Jajja Walu” Walusimbi and a Ugandan born Meddie Kagere (now nationalized to play for Rwanda national team) among others.

Otti also coached Gor Mahia in the later stages of his industrious career.
