Uganda U20 Women’s National Team Head Coach Sheryl Botes Ulanda has confirmed the final squad for the African Games 2023.
The coach released the squad on Monday after the team’s last training in Kampala at MTN-Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
The Queen Cranes will for the first time feature at the tournament that will take place in Ghana between 8th -23rd March 2024.
To qualify for the quadrennial tournament, Uganda finished among the top eight teams in the 2022 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers.
However, Cameroon withdrew and there Group B has Senegal, Nigeria and Morocco.
The others include hosts Ghana, Tanzania , Ethiopia and Uganda who are in group A.
Uganda will start the tournament against neighbours Tanzania on 9th March before taking on Ethiopia and hosts Ghana on 12th and 15th March respectively.
The team will travel to Ghana on Wednesday morning at 12:45am aboard Ethiopian Airlines.
FUFA Executive Committee Member Dan Obote will be the Leader of Delegation for both the Queen Cranes (U20 Women) and Uganda Hippos (U20 Men).
