Williamson confident of win

He will become the first foreign coach to steer Uganda to the Orange Africa Cup of Nations finals next year in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon if the Cranes beat their hottest rivals Harambee stars this Saturday at Mandela stadium.

“I am confident of the team and the players and they know what to do to enable the national side qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations,” Bobby Williamson told a battery of journalists at Namboole. “I am not concerned about the Kenyans and their tactics the players have played against them before and they know who is who on the pitch.”

Other foreign coaches who have handled the national team include Burkhard Pape, Westerhoff Otto, Harrison Okagbue, Pedro Pasculli, Muhammed Abbas and Csaba Laszlo.

The Cranes will have to look out for Dennis Oliech, the skipper of Harambee stars, McDonald Mariga and Victor Wanyama, who could cause problems for the national teams backline that has conceded only two goals in its long run to this point.

Cranes drew with Harambee stars 0-0 in Nairobi in their first encounter in the group.
