
Kenyan Anthony Ndegwa, beat a strong field of 162 golfers to claim the annual Chairman’s Cup golf tournament played at Entebbe golf club.
Ndegwa playing off handicap 26 returned to the club house with an impressive 39 stableford points to claim the overall men’s title in the main draw. The event that is sponsored by Alexander Forbes has golfers playing with three clubs and and putter making it a unique way of playing.
Group A was won by Kampala golfer Abbey Bagalana, who was playing off handicap 2 with 34 points. Group B winner was Joseph Bogera playing off handicap 14 with 37 points while Group C was taken by Gilbert Ojok handicap 22 with 34 points on count back.
The overall winner ladies was in-form Entebbe golfe Maxi Byenkya with 33 points playing off handicap 2. UPDF’s Flavia Namakula handicap 2 was group A winner with 32 points while Group B winner was Pauline Nambi with 33 points and playing off handicap 23.
Silver Opio, beat 19 professionals including Kenyan David Odiambo returning with 143 gross and claiming 1.5million of the 5 million the professionals where battling for.
