KIU Titans edged UCU Canons 55-51 in a MTN FUBA men’s basketball league played on Sunday at YMCA courts in Wandegeya.
Brian Wati and the multi-talented Moses Olobo scored 11 points each for KIU as they shocked the Canons in a university derby and also easied their relegation troubles ahead of the play-offs. Thomas Tokmac scored 7 points as Nimrod Kaboha’s side looked to survival in a dog race.
Tanzanian Sudi Ulanga scored a high 21 points for the Canons, but that was just a consolation as they where shocked by their hot-rivals. Kenya’s Martin Okwako and Desmond Owili scored 7 points each for the losing side.
