USL Matched affected by rain

Rain and poor light has caused mayhem in the Bell Lager Uganda Super League with two games being affected last evening at Mandela Stadium.

The first game between Water FC and Simba FC was called off due to poor floodlights at the stadium with 77 minutes having been played FIFA referee Ali Kalyango called off the game citing poor vision on one side of the pitch.

The two sides where level having scored a goal a piece with Ssebunza Sekagya scoring for Simba in the 24 minute and Water levelling matters in the 64 minute through Musa Tamale.

“This tropical weather and its affecting the league we need to find a way of adjusting the fixtures so that we start games before the rain comes in,” a Super Sport official said at Mandela stadium. “It’s affecting the league and we need to find a remedy.”

KCC‘s derby game with Express that was scheduled for 6pm was also affected by poor flood lights. Utoda FC and SC Villa‘s game at Mutesa II stadium was also washed out for a second time. Meanwhile Proline FC held URA FC to a 2-all draw in Lugazi. Proline who have been struggling to score their goals had Apollo Razak and Gift Ali strike for them with Robert Ssentongo striking for the tax collectors.

Bunamwaya FC pipped Maroons FC 1-0 in Buikwe while Bidco FC lost to ten man Masaka LC 1-0 in Kakindu stadium. Bunamwaya SC and URA FC are now the only unbeaten teams in teh Uganda Super League. Click here to view current league table
