Musoke Buoyant

National rugby sevens coach John Musoke, is in buoyant mood ahead of the 2011 Safaricom Sevens tournament that kicks-off on November 4-6 at Nyayo stadium.

“I am feeling confident ahead of this tournament now that we have received this sponsor,” Musoke said at Sheraton Kampala Hotel. “It will be a tough challenge for us as we are facing some of the best sides on the world rugby circuit.”

Sheraton has offered $5,000 to participate in the prestigious event that gets underway this weekend in Nairobi. Sheraton Banqueting and Catering manager Sam Kalule this morning handed over the cheque to Alex Kalimugogo Uganda Rugby Union hononary secretary during a press briefing at the hotel.

The 15-man squad inclusive of the players and technical team will travel this Friday ahead of the games scheduled for this weekend.

Team Uganda will be facing some of the best teams in the world rugby in one of the most competitive tournaments in Africa.

Uganda will be among 16 teams across the globe to participate in the 16 year old tournament. The teams include Kenya,Bristol, Samoa and Spain,France,Zimbabwe,New Zealand provincial side Auckland,Belmont Shore-USA, British Army among others.
