
Cameroon’s “Indomitable Lions” Uganda’s opponents in the LG Cup due in Morocco, later this month have selected a strong 28 man squad ahead of the invitational tournament.
The squad was announced today by Cameroon’s newly appointed coach Denis Lavagne it includes the English premier league trio of Benoit Assou Ekotto from Tottenham Hot Spurs, Alexandre Song from Arsenal and Somen Tchoyi of West Bromwich Albion.
The Indomitable Lions will play against Uganda, Sudan and Morocco in the LG Cup. The squad also includes star strike and most highly paid player in the world Samuel Eto’o from FK Anzi Mackachkala in Russia
Lavagne has handed a first call up to Spain-based Allan Nyom. The 23-year-old defender was born in France and started his career at AS Nancy before moving to Arles-Avignon. He then moved to Udinese in Italy which loaned him to Spanish Primera Liga side Granada FC.
Tunisia based defender Yaya Banana has also been offered a first senior call-up. He was part of the Junior Lions team that reached the U-20 World Cup quarter-finals this year.
Meanwhile Uganda Cranes starts preparations for the tournament this Saturday at Mandela stadium
