Africa’s top badminton player Edwin Ekiring has risen to 101 in the Badminton World Federation latest rankings that where released today.
Eindhoven based Ugandan badminton player bagged 2,500 rankings points after winning the Botswana International last week and will be looking for more glory tomorrow when he starts his quest to claim the South Africa International in
Pretoria. Ekiring was 113 in the world in last rankings.
Since playing in five tournaments that is the Yonex Dutch Open,Ethiopia International,Bitburger Open,Norwegian International and Botswana International he has scored 1170,1170,660,920 and 2,500 points respectively.
The All Africa badminton silver medalist has two international tournament’s to play before the end of the year he will also take part in the Yonex Irish International from December 8-11 and the Turkiye International from 19-22.
Ekiring needs to break into the top 100 to guarantee himself a slot to the 2012 London Olympics.
