Brian Tabaruka’s side could not walk away with a bonus point against the Toyota Buffaloes at Kyadondo last Saturday. The defending champions won 18-16, a result which the Buffaloes seemed impressed with. Brian Kikawa made two tries for the Yellow machine and Romano Ogwal had both conversions. Jude Keremundu also converted a penalty.
On the Buffaloes’ side who locked the horns well, Saidi Atibu scored a try and Phillip ‘Side stepper’ Wokorach scored 3 penalties and had a conversion too. Robert Seguya, a former Heathens’ player, took the man of the
match medal. “Buffaloes are the future champions of Ugandan rugby” he said on being crowned. “I am happy and pleased that we got a point from them. I would have scored a try if it was my day but it wasnt” said Phillip Wokorach.

At Kampala rugby club, the G4S Black Pirates continued with their piracy againt the XFM Impis with a 20-0 win. Dennis Etuket, Jude Kiirya and Marvin Odong had tries for the Pirates. Ivan Magomu and Hillary Juma also scored a penalty. “It was a great match though i was dissapointed” said Impis’ flanker, David ‘Buzas’ Kabuuza.
The Mongers-Nile clash was not played as planned because struggling Nile side had lost their captain Felix Azibo who died in a motor accident. He died after sustaining injuries near Nakasongola. All games had a moment of silence for the lost player.
