MTN Heathens beat G4S Pirates

The match was packed with loads of action from either side. heathes set the pace with a try in the first minute of kick off through wokorach. The heathens side had an game of experience, speed and aggression while the pirates used more of skill and pressure.

Heathens pressed and made unbeatable counter attacks which saw one of their own getting sent off for foul play. Michael keremundu received a red card for stepping on a pirates player. the pirates on the other hand played with skill coupled with speed. This saw the promising talent ivan magomu, a senior four vacation student in waiting for admission in namilyango college for his a level. the pirates scored one penalty raising the score to 5-3 by half time.

In the second half, the heathens were a man short but still exhibiting equal strength and resistence. The second heathens’ try came in the 47th minute after a tough strike by the heathens. pirates’ ivan magomu was sent off for disputing the referee’s decision. both teams were a man short which gave heathens’ winger bishop onen opportunity and space to make the third heathens try making the score 15-6.

Fans braved the rain as they watched the ultimate beat down go down. Time to time, the heathens kept the ball in the pirates 22 and toiled to get bonus points. at every opportunity, the heathens tried to make a try instead of kicking for goal. unfortunately for them, pirate’s odong got the ball and swang straight for the heathens 22 though he met huge stoppage but still pulled through to the heathens defence. time was the only factor that stopped the heathens from feeling the pirates wrath. By full time, the scores were still 15-6 making heathens maintain their top position on top of the table.
