Falcons Basketball club sacks ten players ahead of season

League giants and most successful basketball club 7-up Falcons Basketball club have terminated ten player’s contracts from there rooster ahead of the new MTN FUBA regular basketball season slated to tip off this month.

The list of those who had their contracts terminated include Alec Dhol, Mika Opinya,Christopher Ouma, Jeasle Mony,Francis Mandego, Francis Karoro. The club released the players and have informed the ruling basketball governing in writting.

“We had to release the players to make way for the new season and also recruit new faces,” Dennis Mbidde, the president of the side said. “It was good working with them and we wish them the best in their new careers elsewhere.”

Falcons retained the services of their captain Peter Elungat, long serving player Samuel Obol others still with them include Kenya’s Richard Osano, Tanzanian Abdallah Ramadhan and Phillip Amenyi.

The others that where released include Phillip Buyondo,Nelson Njau,Isaac Bwire and Francis Okello.

The giant side is coming off a disastrous season that nearly saw them being relegated by FUBA by using unregistered Kenyan player Phillip Amenyi and at the same time docked eight points in the league.

On a sad note the founder of the club John Ssimbwa passed on handing over the reins to his successor Mbidde, who has revamped the club.
