Uganda side lines Oman as next opponent is humbled

Uganda continued with its unbeaten run in the ICC T20 world cup qualifiers when they humbled already wounded Oman at the ICC Global Cricket Academy Ground No 2, in Dubai this afternoon.

For the second time running Uganda lost the toss and fielded first. But Once again veteran Roger Mukasa was the star for Uganda who won by four wickets as he posted 45 runs.

Uganda made 132 runs for nine with Arthur Ziraba

and Frank Nsubuga posting 26 and 27 respectively. Mukasa though was particularly harshly treated shipping 25 off 4 overs. Oman’s quest for a maiden win had finished short at 128/8.

Uganda take on Scotland on Thursday after the Europeans were dismissed by Namibia as Louis van der Westhuizen was the star for the former African champions, who won by 49 runs, as he made 106 not out in 56 balls before taking 2-16.
