After Bamako based side, Djoliba Athletic Club collected a 2-0 away win over four time Uganda Super league winners, Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), it will be a tough task for the tax collectors to put up a 3 goal margin in Mali come the second leg of this year’s CAF Champions league.
Just like the way ongoing political circus which played in the minds of the Malians, so the away goal curse will also phase in the URA camp as preparations for the West African trip take course. Djoliba’s players pose good
heights and this will not play in the Bell Super league titleholders’ hands.
It will be quite hard for the tax collectors to pick an away clean sheet, perhaps even the win. Their continental timeline could have elongated by mere going by Lesotho Correctional Services (LCS) in the preliminary hurdle but the future beyond Djoliba is not yet clear.
Owing to the picture that the Cranes usually post about their away games and not overlooking our expeditions to West Africa, anyone’s hopes for URA could dish out of his/her hands. Few African often lose at home and secure convincing wins away from home.
Despite the undulating political chaos in Djoliba’s home stead, URA failed to munch the meal in Kampala and no visitor would expect the best away from home. Even if the second leg tie is played on a neutral ground, the hopes are quite low and if Isabirye’s crew had won, probably, they would be in a better place. The two first half goals completely sunk Alex Isabirye’s men beyond repair and recovery is not seen any near.
