Walusimbi to lead Cranes against Egypt

Bunnamwaya left back Godfrey Walusimbi has been chosen by coach Bobby Williamson to lead the locally based Cranes against the Pharaohs tomorrow. It was experience according to Williamson why he had to pick on Walusimbi and not even his club captain Robert Kimuli.

“I have worked with most of these lads here and I believe Wazza (Walusimbi) has those qualities of a good leader,” said Williamson. The Scot has put emphasis on players who took part in the CHAN tournament in Sudan last year as he tries to build a stronger and younger side.

“Uganda has always had the talent but that talent has never been given chance or even time to express themselves,” noted Bobby. “It’s majority of these players that will represent Uganda at the Championship of African Nations next year,” he added.

Team going to Sudan includes; Hamza Muwonge, Yasin Mugabi, Denis Guma, Noah Semakula, Ismail Kazibwe, Mpima Saka,  Caesar Sapeo, Luwagga Kizito, Caesar Okhuti, Steven Bengo and Sadam Juma, Jimmy Kakembo, Robert Kimuli, Edward Ssali, Israel Emuge and Godfrey Walusimbi.
