Police’s Ali Ngaimoko, Rwenzori’s, Mildred Gamba and Standard High’s Annet Negesa collected two wins respectively at the third Uganda Athletics Federation (UAF) trials held at Mandela National stadium, Namboole on Saturday.
Negesa, Maputo 800m gold medalist last year won the 800m and 1500m races with 2:05.65 and 4:22.73.
Gamba too beat her opponents to the finish line in 100m and 200m. Police’s Emily Nanziri who came behind Gamba in the 200m, won the 400m with 55.29.
Ngaimoko clocked 10.55 in 100m, only 0.31 short of
the men’s B Olympic qualifying standard. He still posted 21.49 in the 200m.
Olympic bound star, Jacob Araptany received a surprise in the 3000m steeplechase when Ben Siwa crossed the finish line ahead of him.
