Sheraton Hotel’s long relationship in sports sponsorship and giving back to local communities continued this morning when they pledged 9.5 million to the first Sheraton Nakasero Tag Rugby tournament due tomorrow at the hotel’s gardens.
The festival the first of its kind has attracted eight teams, one each from Mulago School for the Deaf, Bweyogerere School for the Deaf, Faith and Hope Primary school, Ntinda school for the Deaf, Bright Future Primary school and hosts Nakasero Primary School who will field four teams.
The Sheraton Nakasero Festival is the first edition of the TAG C.I consortium program of socially responsible corporates that have joined forces with Tag Rugby Trust to support the introduction of Tag Rugby in primary schools in Uganda.
The program supports the Trust Accreditation modules that use Tag Rugby as a vehicle to “Build Futures” by teaching a wide range of skills and setting up structures that will support tag rugby in government primary schools across Uganda through termly cycles of training to culminate into teachers and young leaders gaining valuable accreditations that will help their futures too.
