We shall not appeal - SC Villa's Joseph Kanaaba

SC.Villa Director of Football strategy Mr. Kanaaba Joseph has reiterated to Kawowo sports that the club is dissapointed with FUFA Competitions Committee (FCC) verdict on the aborted URA FC – SC.Villa quarter finals clash at Lugazi on Tuesday but will not appeal against it.

The FCC secretary Decolas Kiiza released a verdict today indicating that SC.Villa has been expelled from this year’s competition and among other monetory fines that see the club fined over 4.4M.

Speaking to Kawowo sports on phone, Mr. Kanaaba stated, “We are dissapointed with many sections of the verdict. For instance, how do you say we forfeit the prize money (UGX 1.05M) we had already won for qualification to this stage. This is being unfair. Any way that is FUFA”.

On providing the main ring leaders of the violent conducted, Kanaaba was left in awe. “The host team the world over is responsible for security. In my opinion, URA FC was responsible for all the spectators that watched the game and not Villa. Their security and stadium management should be responsible for this”, Kanaaba stated.

On whether the club is going to appeal, the football director said not at all. “With such a verdict, nothing positive is expected from the federation”, he concluded. The tie at Lugazi prematurely ended with the hosts leading 3-1 in the 71st minute after angry Villa fans pelted stones at assistant referee Sam Kayondo protesting a penalty that was awarded to URA FC prompting security to use tear gas, rubber and live bullets to calm the situation.
