The top of the table clash ended in a stalemate with Sekisambu Erias scoring for Express before Kasozi Bob deflected a Benson Ociti cross into his own net for a 1-1 draw. Kawowo sports rates the players as per performance in the clash. The ratings are out of ten.
URA FC:
OWINY ALLAN (6): Had no chance with the goal but should have done better commanding his line as Lutimba Yayo passed to Sekisambu. Made a brilliant
save late on to save Julius Ogwang’s cross from getting into the net.
MASABA SIMON (6): Had a busy afternoon against Lutimba Yayo. He however did well and offered his side with offensive options when he overlapped and delivered some decent crosses.
ALLAN MUNAABA (6): He had a busy afternoon stopping Julius Ogwang but did exceptionally well in the first half. However, his performance faded in the second half as he was on many occassions caught off guard. Was eventually replaced by Osama Farouk with nine minutes to go.
PHILLIP SSEMPIIRA (6.5): Did everything possible to mark danger man Sekisambu Erias but lost him in the 55th minute and was punished. Had a decent game.
SAM MUBIRU (6): The veteran defender used his ariel ability to clear whatever cross came into the area. His command of defence was fantastic. Will be more angry with yet again failing to keep a clean sheet.
MANKO KAWESA (6.5): Captain fantastic had a busy afternoon making endless interceptions and trying to shoot from distance but most of shots went wide.
MOSES FENI ALI (5): Had a quiet game by his standards . Never really got a sight on goal though credit goes to Express’ Ssempala Hashim who didn’t offer him any breathing space.
SAID KYEYUNE (4.5): Another bad day at office for the former Misindye and Maroons midfielder. His only contribution to the side was the first half freekick that was neatly saved by Jamal Salim. Replaced with Hamis Kitagenda on the hour mark.
ROBERT SSENTONGO (6.5): Found it hard against the two big Express centre backs in Henry Katongole and Bob Kasozi. He missed a chance to increase his goal tally as he hit a free kick near the 18 yard box. Tried some magic in the 83rd minute as he dribbled past a forest of legs in the Express FC area but still failed to find space to shoot.
NSUMBA AUGUSTINE (4): Did nothing of note in the game apart from losing possession. Looked unfit and tired. Subsitituted for Sula Bagala with a few minutes in the second half.
BENSON OCITI (5): Was lucky as his cross was deflected by Kasozi Bob for an own goal for the equalizer that salvaged a draw for the champions. Besides, he was off colour.
SUBS:
SULA BAGALA (5): It seemed he didn’t know where to play when he came on though he added numbers in the midfield.
HAMIS KITAGENDA (N/A).
OSAMA FAROUK (N/A).
EXPRESS FC:
JAMAL SALIM (7): Could do nothing to save the goal but his game reading and distribution were fantastic. Frustrated many URA FC players with time wasting antics
MAKANGA JOHN (5): Panicky outing as he gave URA FC forwards so much respect. Replaced with Sserunkuma Faisal in the 23rd minute.
KAZIBWE ISMAIL (6.5): Did well defensively but offered less going forward even when a chance arose.
KASOZI BOB (5.5) – Was unlucky to score an own goal in the late spells of the game. Man marked Robert Ssentongo nicely.
KATONGOLE HENRY (6.5): Hard done by failure to keep a clean sheet. His towering frame was helped Red eagles defend crosses with out much effort.
KAVULU GODFREY (6): He did better after shifting to right back but will regret offering much space to Ociti whose cross deflected off Kasozi Bob for the equaliser.
OGWANG JULIUS (6.5): Had a decent game running the show in the second half. His hand of God goal was nulled and got booked. Unlucky not to be on the score sheet when he decided to pass to Sekisambu instead of shooting with Owiny beaten.
SSEMPALA HASIM (7.5): Another brilliant performance from the midfield. Un settled URA FC midfielders with his tireless runs. Nice performance.
SEKISAMBU ERIAS (8): Was in the right place at the right time to net his fifth goal of the season. Denied twice by nothing but referees calls for offside.
KAVUMA WILLY (8): Captain fantastic indeed. His close ball continue and intelligent passing were a handful for URA FC. Man of the match indeed.
LUTIMBA YAYO (8): Made that pass for the goal after beating three URA defenders. A decent game for the young lad.
SUBS:
SSERUNKUMA FAISAL (7): Replaced the panicky Makanga John in the 23rd minute and did quiete well.
