Bunamwaya have several distinct advantages over Maroons as the two meet in the Bell Uganda Super league on Friday afternoon. For starters Bunamwaya have lost their Maiden Bell Uganda Cup Final at the expense of URA, and the league is the only realistic chance they have to win silver ware.
Secondly for a clup looking for their second league title, Edward Golola is not about to lose his third straight league game after Water and Simba.
Ironically fourth placed Bunamwaya’s last taste of victory was against Maroon when they knocked their hosts out of the Uganda Cup.But with the absence of Martin Muwanga and centre half Ronald Seku through suspension Bunamwaya will hav e to continue soldiering on to keep tabs with URA, Express and now Proline.Bukenya will replace Seku while Simon Sserunkuma will be expected to add pace from the right wing.
Maroons are 11th on the 16 team log and on paper look the better side but Asaph Mwebze,s men have lost two out of their last three outings.Unlike Bunamwaya who are missing Seku, Muwanga and Juuko, Maroons will only have to worry about the absence of Allan Anguyo who has lost accumulated three yellow cards.
But Mwebaze is expected to assemble a strong team that will add salt to the already bleeding Bunamwaya wood. With George Abege, Peter Otai and Brian Akena controlling the offence, Okello Maxwell and Alex Tuliraba competing for room in the midfield with Hakim Sekumba and skipper Robert Kimuli,
Meanwhile, Bunnamwaya Midfielder, Kizito Luwaga has been voted USL footballer for the month of February, and it’s that form that he is expected to replicate and carry his team forward.
