After missing out on the post season appearance last year, Falcons did alot of shopping to give this season a go. Though their chairman, Denis Mbidde, said he does not expect the team to win a championship this season, Falcons are the only team that would give Warriors or Power a real fight. This however does not undermine what KIU and UCU are capable of. Falcons already lost to KIU anyway!
Warriors (5-0) scored in triple digits in the opening three games, came back to earth in the last two but still recorded blow out victories. Falcons (4-1) are up for a big task of defending Warriors who have got scorers at both the front and back court. Falcons’ big man Philp Ameny’s defensive game always gets him into foul trouble early in games and with a task of defending Sam Gombya, you can almost be sure he will get into similar trouble.
Edwin Katerega has been a big addition to Falcon since making the switch from Miracle and will lead their offense along with game veteran Steven Omony as well as Steven Mwesigye and Douglas Uwireza. The Warriors bench is much better than that of Falcons. The Blick brothers, Steven Okias, Jude Ochen & Eric Malinga sat out against Heaters as Sirus Kiviri put up the performance for Warriors and some will be back on the team against Falcons.
