NATIONAL MULTIPLE INDUSTRIES CRICKET LEAGUE
Division 1
SKLPS 120/5 Charity TF 114/10
Shree Kutch Levar Patel Samaj defeated Charity Trust Fund by five wickets to shelter their second league win in the National Multiple Division One tie at Lugogo yesterday. Henry Muyanja (24) and South African born Zach Waltz (22) ensured that Charity who lost the toss put up 114 runs in 36.3 overs. The score would have been bigger had it not been SKLPS bowler, Barat Varshani who snared three wickets and Lalji Gondalia (2/11). Varshani also bagged three maidens in his ten overs.
In the second innings, reckless fielding and lack of concentration cost Charity’s outfield as SKLPS managed to reach the target. Man of match Jitesh Gorasia hit 48 off 52 (eight boundaries) and Hitesh Halai added 26 runs to reach 120 for the loss of five wickets.
Innocent Ndawula dropped three catches but he had 1/13 bowling statistics. His five overs would have produced three maidens had it not been his teammates poor fielding. Charity captain Jonathan Ssebanja also picked two wickets.
