Wanderers Cricket Club overcame new comers Challengers in the men’s National Multiple Industries’ Cricket League at Kyambogo oval yesterday. The Dennis Musali led troops won the 50-over duel by 93 runs to move top of the log on 22 points. Despite losing the toss, Wanderers were all out for 205 with forgotten Hamza Saleh hitting a-68 figure, Ivan Thawithemwira had 28 and Derrick Bakunzi notched 21 runs. Saleh got the man of match honor.
Challengers’ bowlers; Abdul Mubarak had 3/36 while Mohamed Aneef picked two. Fahad Sadiq (38) and Siraje Nsubuga (21) had their work more demanding Challengers collapsed at 112. Derrick Bakunzi had a commanding 3/14 and national team captain Davis Karashani poised 2/31. It was Wanderers’ fourth league win in five games.
