Express FC cut URA FC's lead at the top

VICTORS FC 0-1 EXPRESS FC
A first half solitary strike from Lutimba Yayo was all that Express FC needed to over come Victors FC in a league game played this afternoon at Njeru technical center and cut URA FC’s lead at the top to four points as the league enters it’s penultimate stages. The U-20 international that missed the dubious 3-2 win over Maroons FC due to suspension struck to give Sam Ssimbwa’s side hope of winning their first title in 16 years with their last league title coming way back in 1996.
The Wankulukuku based side is the only top side this season to leave Victors FC’s Kakindu fortress with maximum points as URA FC, Bunamwaya SC, SC Villa, KCC FC and Proline FC leaving either empty handed or with just a single point.
Despite the win, Express FC remain in third position on the league table with 50 points, the same tally as second placed Bunamwaya SC but has an inferior goal difference of 18 as compared to the 2009 champions’ 23 goals who walloped strugglers Hoima-Busia 4-0 in the other league match played at Buikwe today. However, the victory cuts URA FC’s lead at the top to four with a game in hand against Simba SC though it is most likely the red eagles will forfeit the points from the game. Sula Kato’s Victors FC remain 10th on the 16 team log on 34 points.
