HOIMA-BUSIA FC 1-2 SC VILLA
Moses Ndaula struck at the death of half time to earn visiting SC Villa a 2-1 win over a determined Hoima-Busia FC in a league game played at Bugembe this afternoon. Robert Acema had given the blues an early lead inside the first ten minutes when he put the ball at the back of the net after Ndaula’s attempt hit the post. However, there was a good reaction from the hosts as Mugabi Martin immediately levelled matters.
With the score level, villa began to take control of the game dominating play from midfield. Their pressure yielded at the death of half time as Ndaula Moses’ shot from close range found the back of the net after Herman Wasswa’s well headed pass from Paul Musamali’s cross inside the 16 yard area. After recess, both teams tried to look for goals but could not find any as defences stood tall and then chances wasted also.
Ndaula’s winner was his 9th goal of the season while Acema was scoring his second in two consecutive games having netted Villa’s consolation in the loss against URA FC. The win lifts Mike Mutebi’s side to 6th on the 16 team table on 43 points while Hoima-Busia remain in relegation zone on 21 points and lie third from the bottom.
WHAT THEY SAID:
Hoima-Busia FC Coach Charles Namakola:
“Am proud of my boys despite the loss. The boys tried hard but they looked fatigued. You can’t blame them, they have played 4 games in a week. We shall play till the last game and see whether we can survive”.
SC Villa assistant Coach Kaddu Badru:
“We played well but still poor defensively. Our two central defenders lacked cordination but it was important we earned the three points”.
