
It was glamour and joy at the club house at the Uganda Golf Club as four teams guaranteed their place in the prestigious Dasani Golf Series that teed off at the par 72 Kitante golf course on Saturday.
The best team on the night was made up of Peter Sunday who returned with a score of 37 points others in his winning side where Morris Ntege with 38 while inform lady golfer Kate Kabenge had 39 while Davis Kashaka had 32 to end with a total of 146 points.
Runners-up and second team to book its position was made up Gloria Mbaguta who scored 30 points with Petra Nalwoga and Brenda Ngabo scoring 36 and 37 respectively while Eva Asiimwe 38 points with total of 141 points.
Team 25 made up of John Byabagambi, Sam Mubiru scored 32 and 35 respectively together with David Kanyoro and John Tumusiime scored 37 and 35 to end with a total of 139 points.
The fourth team to book its slot was Team 32 that had Fancy Ogweng,Cecilia Lwanga,Getrude Kityo,Lilian Anguparu with 138 points.
The qualifiers will now move to Entebbe Golf club on June16 and then to Jinja Golf Club on June 30 before visiting Mbarara Sports Club on July 14 Toro Club, Fort Portal will then host their qualifiers on July 28.
The grande finale will be held on August 18 at the Uganda Golf Club with the winning team of four golfers winning a fully paid trip of luxurious golf at a luxury golf club in the world.
This year Uganda Golf Club will witness four teams being choosen while Entebbe Golf Club will have three teams together with Jinja while Toro and Mbarara will have two teams choosen each with 15 teams expected to battle at the grand finale in August in Kampala.
Last year Entebbe’s team made up of Joseph Bogera, Henry Lujja, Vincent Katutsi and Alexander Kasendwa, claimed the overall winners ticket to a fully sponsored trip to Phuket,Thailand. This year who will win the grand finale? We shall keep you posted.
