Sentongo lifts URA FC

URA FC 1-0 Maroons FC

Robert Ssentongo’s solitary strike in the first half was all defending champions URA FC needed to over come stubborn Maroons FC in a bell super league game played at Lugazi this afternoon.

The diminutive striker took his tally of the league this season to 16 with the strike an implication that he also heads the race for the golden boot. Despite resistance from the visiting side in the second half, the Tax collectors stood tall and held on till the final whistle.

The win implies Alex Isabirye’s side remains on top of the league on goal difference following the expulsion of Fire Masters FC from the league. The tax collectors are level on 51 points with Express FC that settled for a draw with Bunamwaya SC today but the side has a goal difference of 18 as compared to Express FC’s 17. Utoda FC 1-2 KCC FC

At Lugogo, Ceaser Sapeo and Ocaya Joseph were on target as KCC FC condemned UTODA FC to their 21st loss of the season. Ismail Kintu’s side remains the only side in the super league this season not to win a league game. However, they still have one game to remove that record. Morley Byekwaso’s side is now seated 7th on 41 points while Utoda FC remains on 6 points and second from bottom on the 16 team log.

In other games Police FC beat Hoima-Busia FC 1-2 at Njeru. Masaba Charles scored a brace for Sam Timbe’s side. The cops go 13th on 30 points just a place above their hosts who are relegated on 17 points.
