Cecafa 2012

Council for East and Central Africa African Football Association (CECAFA) general secretary Nicholas Musonye has reiterated to Kawowo sports that all matches at this year’s edition will be broadcast live on pay television Super sport.

“We have signed an agreement with Super sport and they will broadcast all matches”, said Musonye adding that the council is also still in search for other potential sponsors who will make the tournament a success.

“We’re also talking to a few potential sponsors who will come up to add on to the already secured kitty to make the edition successful”.

Musonye also went on to thank the government of Tanzania and the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) for the accepting to host the tournament.

“We thank the government of Tanzania and TFF who have always been supportive of Cecafa and without them, we couldn’t hold the tournament”, said Musonye.

The championship is bankrolled by Rwandan president Paul Kagame who sunk $ 60,000 into this year’s edition. The winner will pocket $ 30,000 while the first and second runners up will walk away with $ 20,000 and $ 10,000 respectively. Uganda’s representative at this year’s edition will be URA FC and the tournament kicks off 14th July and ends on 27th July.
