Cranes midfielder Manko Kawesa and URA FC skipper has reiterated to Kawowo sports that he will be playing at Victoria University next season.

“I won’t be at URA FC next season. That is why i didn’t travel with the team to Dar es Salam for CECAFA. Am playing at Victoria next season”, he frankly told Kawowo sports.

The midfielder who has spent seven years at the club winning four league titles and two bell Uganda Cup trophies decided not to renew his contract at the club where he was skipper for the last four seasons.

As a captain, Manko has won three trophies for the club including two league trophies and a bell Uganda Cup.

The dread locked box to box midfielder also scored the first URA FC goal in the Orange CAF Champions League among other achievements and also holds the record for the youngest skipper at the club and may be the youngest captain ever to lift a league crown.

Manko joined URA FC from Top T.V in 2005 where he was also the club captain.

On this, Manko thanks God and points to luck, hard work and commitment as the reason for such a feat. “May be am lucky but am also a hard worker and a committed player”, he said.

Manko joins a list of new acquisitions at the club Ali Kimera (from Victors), George Abege and Martin Mpuga (Maroons FC).

On why he decided to leave URA FC, Manko said “I just wanted a new challenge but thanks for the time i have spent at URA FC. I’ll miss my team mates but time for new challenge has come”, he concluded.
